Stamford Democrats Launch The Ellen Camhi Scholarship Fund                                                                                 

MAY 7, 2011  Stamford, CT  The Stamford Democrats today launched the Ellen Camhi Scholarship Fund. This scholarship will benefit Stamford Public High School Students who demonstrate extraordinary ability or interest in the study of government, politics or civics, according to Party Chairman, Jim Diamond.

The Fund was launched at an event May 7, 2011 in Stamford where Governor Dannel Malloy, Attorney General George Jepsen and Congressman Jim Himes, along with more than 100 guests all paid tribute to Camhi's 27 years of leadership of the Stamford Democratic Party.

"This scholarship will be a lasting legacy to Ellen's many years of dedication to public education in Stamford along with paying tribute to her commitment to civics and politics, " said Diamond.

Tax Exempt status for the Fund is pending.
